I love, love, love how this turned out. I have a shirt with angel wings on the back that I got a couple years ago and it inspired me to make one for the little giggler. It was super easy.
Supplies Needed:
Plain T-shirt or tank top
Fabric
Heat n Bond
Sewing Machine
Coordinating thread
Scissors
First print and cut out your stencil.
Iron your Heat n Bond to the wrong side of the fabric. Trace your wings onto the Heat n Bond paper.
Cut out your two wings. Remove the paper.
Next, iron it on to your T-shirt. I could see the printed on tag through the shirt, so I used that as a guide to center my wings. I found this white T at Wal-mart for $2.50. The tank tops are Hanes boys size 2T-3T. They came in a 5 pack for around $5.00.
Now sew around the edges. When you get to a corner, leave your needle down, lift your foot, then turn your shirt, put the foot down and sew again. I tried to show that in the picture below.
Here's what it looks like finished.
I tried to get fancy with plain fabric. I used my fabric pen to draw some lines, then I sewed over them.
What do you think?
